Tribals.io is a multiplayer survival game in the .io style: you drop into a shared map with other players, gather what you need, build, and fight to stay alive. Unlike a pure arena shooter, the pressure comes from two directions at once, the other players and the need to prepare before they find you.

It sits on 1v1.LOL alongside the shooters, but the rhythm is different. A 1v1.LOL round is a quick duel where aim decides everything. Here a session is slower to start: you spend the first minutes looting and setting yourself up, and the fights come out of that preparation. It suits a player who likes the battle royale idea but wants a bit more to do between gunfights.

It is an HTML5 game, so it runs in the browser with nothing to install and no account. Because the map is shared with other people, every session plays out a little differently.

How to play

Move with WASD or the mouse, and click to shoot or interact. The aim is the usual one for the genre: loot, survive, and be the last one standing. In practice a life tends to go in three stages:

• Gather. Pick up what you find and collect resources first. Going into a fight with nothing is the quickest way to restart.
• Build and prepare. Use what you have collected to set yourself up before other players arrive.
• Fight. Engage when you have the advantage, and back off when you do not.

Tips

• Be patient at the start. Early on, collecting resources is worth more than chasing the first player you see.
• Keep moving in fights. Standing still on a shared map makes you an easy target for anyone nearby.
• Watch your surroundings while you gather, since other players can approach while you are busy.
• If you die, you restart quickly, so treat each attempt as a chance to try a different opening.
